Ricoh’s new CX2 has retained the stylish exterior of its CX1 predecessor, but its interior is treasure-trove of performance refinements along with one of the largest zoom lenses in the compact series.

The 7.5cm high resolution LCD is superb and the menu graphics a definite improvement, but the standout feature is the new dynamic range extension mode which preserves detail in the extreme light and dark parts of the image.
