Traveltalk January 2010
Welcome to 2010 and another year of travel and discovery.
As expected the new year has brought with it a renewed sense of optimism and a huge wave of travel bookings, so we look at some of the great products and deals on offer.
We may be only one month into the year, but it is already showing signs of rapid recovery with airlines boasting a return to profitable trading and cruise companies selling out itineraries for 2010.
The attempted bombing of US airliner on Christmas Day has also renewed calls for more stringent airport security measures, including the introduction of see-through scanning. We take a look at this sensitive issue on page 3.
Also setting a new agenda is the commencement of test flights for one of the most anticipated aircraft in many hears – the reviooltuionary Boeing 787 Dreamliner. This all-composite aircraft is totally new from the ground up and is expected to change the way we fly with ultra-long range, bigger windows and more humidity in the cabin. We look at the test flight program in this issue.
There’s also a huge report on one of the rapidly emerging appeal of the Eastern Meditrerranean and a quick lesson in the art of cooking abroad.
